Day 8 – Auntie the Life Saver!

We ended up having a very long night on Friday night. Let’s just say that toddlers will be toddlers. So, we’ve decided to dial things back a bit and take it easy during our stay at aunties. We’ve been so grateful that auntie is super flexible and we’re all just happy being around each other and catching up.

Beckett finally asleep after a very long night

Since arriving at aunties Brooke and Marlene have been like two peas in a pod! They started the day by making a beautiful fruit salad and the going for a walk to the playground. Apparently, about 2 minutes into the walk Brooke said, its hot! The Weier’s have not acclimated to the Phoenix weather (100+ degrees) like Marlene has. Marlene got Brooke a couple presents, one of which is a DIY wind chime, so they were busy painting the pieces in the morning. She also got Beckett a little scavenger hunt game and he was busy playing it (aka playing with the cards, not the actual game) for the majority of the morning. Thanks Auntie!

In the afternoon we sat out on the patio and relaxed. Marlene turned on the little patio misters which makes it much more comfortable on a hot day (shout out to Ryan!). I’m trying to figure out how I can use them to cool down our scorching back yard in the middle of the summer…

We all had so much fun hanging out during the day that we completely lost track of time, so we didn’t have time to make dinner. We decided to order some Chinese instead and we all enjoyed that. Marlene made us all angel-food cake with pineapple cream for a refreshing dessert.
