Day 6 – Last Day in Cloudcroft

Good news! After the kids stayed up from 3am-8pm with ~15 mins of napping the previous day they finally crashed and slept in! And by slept in I mean 5 and 6am. But we will take it!

Today was a pretty low key day. Brandon and Jay had to work so it was Christina and Jaclyn with all the kids. Christina had to go in town for a hair appointment so Parker and Serafina were the official Cloudcroft tour guides for Jaclyn, Beckett and Brooke. They went to the playground, a bakery (where the kids got cupcakes, yummy!) and the library.

After touring Cloudcroft the kids came back for some PB&J sandwiches while the adults decided to get some brisket sandwiches. I went into town and was blown away at this authentic Texas BBQ place with a line out the door. The brisket literally melted in your mouth. The lady in this picture would chop the brisket super fast with the cleaver while looking around the room, yikes!

They sold 26 briskets in < 2 hours 🤯

In the evening we had dinner and started getting ready to head to our next destination (Gilbert, AZ to see auntie Marlene!). We wrapped up the night with a kids friendly version of what do you meme.

Playing a censored version of “What do you meme?”

We will all be sad to leave the Sullivan’s tomorrow morning. Our two families have made up for lost time and fit together perfectly. They’ve been amazing hosts and we haven’t had to lift a finger. Hopefully we can repay the favor in July when they visit NH.

Love the pictures and the details of your adventure!
I trust Dan made it safely back home and isn’t still driving that Tesla around the mountains of New Mexico.

    • Well…actually…he did accidentally take the Tesla off-roading on a 4×4 trail and then missed his last connecting flight to Manchester. So he ended up spending a night in Philadelphia and then flew into Boston, took the bus back to Nashua and then Uber’d to his car at the Manchester airport. Quite the saga…

  2. Wow, all that fun in New Mexico – I’ve got a tough act to follow! Can’t wait to see the Weiers here in Arizona!

I wish I was at Auntie Marlene’s waiting for the loveable Weier Family to arrive. I too hope God willing to visit Auntie some day soon. Enjoy. Jean

  4. Was that mad jacks?? I am jealous I still need to go.
