My dad and I made it through day 2. This was the longest day on our road trip down to New Mexico and wasn’t helped by the fact that we were on 5 hours of sleep after watching the Celtics epic win. Go C’s! ☘️
Yesterday during the drive my dad and I were talking about the Indy 500 and how we could watch it. Then, last night as we were planning our route we thought that it would be cool to stop and see Indianapolis Motor Speedway since we’d be going right through Indianapolis. About 5 minutes later we realized holy crap, the Indy 500 is today and we will be in Indianapolis! Too bad we don’t have time to go see it but thank god we didn’t cluelessly try to visit the speedway along with 300,000 other people 😬
We made our way down through Indiana, Illinois and through most of Missouri. We stopped at the St. Louis arch which was pretty impressive and wayyyy bigger then you think it is. It’s also made of stainless steel and is silver, I thought it was like white concrete or something.

My dad saved us from potential disaster because he heard one of the feet on the cargo box pop loose while driving. When I checked it, one foot was completely undone and a second one was half loose. We almost donated lots of Beckett’s diapers to I-70!
Outside of that everything went smoothly again and the scenery is still great! I was expecting flat farmland for as long as the eye could see but instead we got views like these as we crossed through the Ozarks (no Marty McBride sightings!).

We were both super tired and accidentally ordered 32oz beers at dinner so now we’re off to sleep!

“Accidentally” – yeah, right!
That’s funny, I also assumed the arch was white stone or something like the Washington monument. Nice photo!
